There’s more than s’mores added to the Indiana County Democratic Committee’s (ICDC) Fall Freedom Festival. Set for Saturday, October 18, at the College Lodge from 1:00-4:00 p.m., the Festival follows the No Kings Rally downtown Indiana that starts at 11 a.m.
Joining a family-friendly list of activities will be local comedian Russ Leap. The Festival will also include a round of trivia with local trivia-master, Nate Vanderneck
Leap runs Leap’s Farm in Penn Run and serves as a duly sworn constable in Cherry Hill Township. With partner Dave, under the name of Screaming Possum Stand Up, they have played craft breweries, tattoo shops, and just about any place that will plug in a mic. Leap brings quick wit, homespun stories, and delightfully odd observations to any room. When he is not on stage, Leap is tending chickens, turkeys, bees, and—every now and then—the odd possum.

Vanderneck, an Indiana native and ICDC committee member currently running for Indiana Borough Council, will be hosting a trivia game inspired by our crucial judicial retention vote.
Previously announced, Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Chrstine Donohue will be the featured speaker of the afternoon. She will be joined by Lynne Alvine, chair of the ICDC, and Andy Muth of the IUP College Democrats.
Other plans include a full picnic menu of hot dogs and hamburgers fresh off the grill, vegetarian options, picnic salads, soft beverages, and ingredients to make your own s’mores. There will be activities to watch or play such as scavenger hunt bingo, corn hole, and pumpkin decorating. Prizes and giveaways are also in the plans.
There is plenty of free parking and the Lodge is fully accessible. The cost is only $30 a person, $10 for students (age 5 to college age), free for age 4 and under. Tickets may be reserved or purchased online now. The festival will be held rain or shine.
And before the Festival on October 18, join us for the NO KINGS 2.0 RALLY starting at 11:00 a.m. October 18, at IRMC Park, downtown Indiana. RSVPs are appreciated but not required.
