Speakers Announced for May 2 Democratic Brunch

Four major Democratic candidates will address attendees at the Indiana County Democratic Spring Brunch set for Saturday, May 2, in the Crystal Room of the Chestnut Ridge Resort located in Blairsville. The event will start at 11:00 a.m. and seating is limited.

The speakers include U.S. House of Representative Democratic candidates Alan Bradstock running in the 14th U.S. District and Ray Bilger running in the 15th U.S. District). Additional speakers include State House of Representatives Democratic candidates Trajan Jones in the 62nd PA District and Lisa Gourley in the 66th PA District.

Bradstock is a Desert Storm veteran, retired FBI agent, and lifelong public servant from Donora in Western, PA. After serving as a U.S. Army aviation officer during the fall of the Berlin Wall, Alan went on to a distinguished career in the FBI, leading investigations into corruption, terrorism, and violent crime, and later serving in coordination roles at CIA Headquarters, the DEA, and the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa.

Bilger was born Bellefonte, PA. Having served in the Air Force, he is also a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Over his long career, he has distinguished himself as a security officer and intelligence analyst, leading teams for the Air Force, National Security Agency, and State Department. Bilger looks to help rebuild the 15th Congressional District by bringing opportunity and hope back to rural Pennsylvania.

As a fourth generation resident of Indiana County, Jones has spent his life dedicated to the improvement of the place that shaped him. From his early days in the Indiana School District, to his attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania, to his professional career in community development, his journey is one of service, empathy, and a tireless commitment to the people in his community.

Gourley has spent a career in healthcare, fighting for patients for over 30 years. Rising from registered nurse to Vice President of Clinical Reimbursement, she has taken on insurance companies and hospital bureaucracies that put profits over patients. She also seeks equitable funding for schools, a fair economy, and the rights citizens in Jefferson and Indiana counties deserve.

The event will also include numerous door prizes donated by local businesses and a silent auction.

The brunch is hosted by the Indiana County Democratic Committee, and the cost is $35 per person with sponsorships still available. Advance reservations with payment is required and walk-ups cannot be accommodated. Ticket information is available at indianapadems.com.
